JOB DESCRIPTION

Ottawa Perogies is seeking a dedicated Shop Assistant to join our team and contribute to our day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate should have conversational proficiency in English and one of the following: Ukrainian, Russian. Prior work experience is welcomed, but not necessary in this entry-level job, as comprehensive paid training will be provided. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide exceptional customer service
- Process cash, credit and debit payments efficiently
- Answer phone inquiries professionally
- Monitor and replenish stock inventory
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to assist in food preparation and dish washing
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

No previous work experience is necessary, as comprehensive training is provided upon onboarding. The shop environment requires strong multitasking skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, work well under pressure, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

- Conversational proficiency in one of the following: Ukrainian, Russian  MANDATORY

- Conversational proficiency in English  MANDATORY

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

- Starting at $17.60/hour + 4% vacation pay in lieu

- Additional tip earnings based on sales
