JOB DESCRIPTION

Ottawa Perogies is looking to hire a Shop Assistant to support its day-to-day operations. The successful candidate would be Ukrainian/Russian speaking in addition to English, and would not require any prior experience as paid training is provided. 
 

SOME TASKS WILL INCLUDE:

- Provide customer service
- Process cash, credit and debit payments
- Answer telephone
- Keep track, maintain and refill stock
- Assist cooks in the kitchen
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

No previous work experience necessary. Training is provided. The work environment and customer base requires skills in multitasking, ability to prioritize effectively, work well under pressure, work independently, and work within a team.

Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers in the shop's primary languages is also required. Only basic conversational levels are required.
 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

- Russian or Ukrainian (spoken/conversational) MANDATORY

- English (spoken/conversational) MANDATORY
 

COMPENSATION:

Hourly Wage: Starting at $15.50/hr + 4% vacation in lieu

Domestic and international students with valid working permits are welcome to apply. The position offers shifts that aim to accommodate student schedules and changing semester availabilities when possible.
